The full picture

This expansive coastal park is famous for its rolling hills that transform with the seasons, most notably into a sea of blue nemophila or red kochia. People visit to walk the winding trails and photograph some of Japan's most iconic floral landscapes.

It suits nature lovers, photographers, and families looking for a spacious outdoor escape with activities like cycling.

Late April is best for the blue nemophila, while mid-October offers the peak red kochia colors.

💡 Check the official blooming forecast before traveling, as the hills can be empty of flowers by early November.

Hitachi Seaside Park during the nemophila season is absolutely stunning. The entire hill turns into a sea of light blue flowers, blending perfectly with the sky — it feels like walking through a dream. The view from the top is breathtaking, and the breeze makes the flowers ripple like waves. It can get crowded, but the scenery is so beautiful that it’s completely worth it. One of the most unforgettable spring sights in Japan.

Hitachi Seaside Park is a stunning nature spot in Ibaraki, Japan, famous for its seasonal flower displays—especially the blue nemophila in spring and red kochia in autumn. With wide open spaces, walking trails, bike rentals, and family-friendly attractions, it’s the perfect escape from city life. Just a quick trip from Tokyo, it’s a must-visit for nature lovers

If you came here in late April, you will find a blue hill. The nemophilia were bloomed around that time. It's such a beautiful view! I travelled from Tokyo by train and get off at Katsuta station. Then take a bus to Hitachi Seaside Park and entrance ticket for 1080 yen. That's not only nemophilia, but there's also tulip garden and cherry blossom. I recommend you to be there in the morning, because this place will be closed at 5 pm. There's a lot of things and spots to be explored.

Visit date: 15/10/2024, a few days to forecasted peak red. But still absolutely spectacular.

Actually, this place is very beautiful, but when I went there, the flowers were gone, huhu, I was very disappointed because I went there at the beginning of November. But if you come at the right time, you will be very satisfied. Seeing nemophila flowers, tulips and other very beautiful flowers.
