The tea plantation tour was so fun: It started with an explanation by one of the guides on the T picking process then it followed by 20 minutes of us actually going into the field and picking the tea plants we got to wear traditional tea picking outfits then we went up into the sky lounge to try 10 different teas with the guide We really enjoyed it. Highly recommend.

A well-deserved 5-star experience! This was one of the highlights of my trip to Sri Lanka. The tour was incredibly informative, and I really enjoyed learning about the entire tea-making process, from the tea leaves growing on the plantation to the final cup of tea. First time visiting a tea plantation and this experience exceeded all expectations. We learned about the entire tea making process, from how the leaves are grown and selected to how different types of tea are produced. Being able to wear traditional clothing and go out to pluck the leaves ourselves made it feel very authentic and hands on. The handmade tea making part was a real highlight and gave us a much deeper appreciation for the work behind every cup. Janitha gave us a tour through the tea fields and the factory. Janitha was very experienced and really learned us a lot about the process of making tea. He was very polite and speaks good English. We could ask him anything and he would explain. The tour we did include making your own tea. Picking the leaves and more! It was a fun experience. It was a shame the factory isn’t operating on Saturday and Sunday. So better go from Monday till Friday!

Lovely tea making tour guided by the lovely Nimasha. I got to learn how tea is made from start to finish, and get hands-on with the process myself. One of the highlights was tasting different types of tea, especially the one I made on my own. The setting made everything even better, with a beautiful mountainous view of the Ella tea plantations right from the balcony. Highly recommend if you are visiting Ella and want something a bit more meaningful than just sightseeing.
