The bridge and watching the train cross are a worthwhile but quick experience. Definitely worth seeing this is you are in Ella. We self drove to the bridge. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE TUK TUK DRIVERS WHO SAY YOU CANNOT DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD, YOU CAN! They are trying to make a quick buck by saying tuk tuk is the only way down. The road is narrow and steep to begin with but opens up about 100m from the sharp turn off the main road. There is also parking right at the end of the road which costs 100 rupees for a car and 50 rupees for a tuk tuk or bike.
