Museum of Aeronautical Sciences

Really enjoyed my visit here, had been meaning to visit for a while. Highlight is the incredible large scale 747 model in the main atrium area - it moves, flaps and gear retract and extend.. sound effects - very awesome. Some interesting pieces and models, Concorde and 747 windshields… Nose section of a 747 outside (sadly couldn’t be accessed). Outside are some cool vintage aircraft, YS-11 etc. Definitely worth a visit - aviation geek must do! Convenient bus schedule servicing this museum, JR Bus to Narita Station etc. and also Airport buses.

What a great aviation museum! This is a truly one of the hidden gem of Japan as a whole. There is a flight simulator which you can block 10 min time with an actual flight instructor and do actual take off/landing in real looking 737 cockpit. My son had a blast doing it and also similar other exhibits through our the facility. There is a bus stop to and from T2 but probably just take the taxi to ease the pain of waiting for the bus (It doesn't run too often like in Tokyo).

It was an interesting experience to see the full history of aeroplanes, from the early Wright brothers all the way to the NASA space shuttle—all well displayed in one place. There is a high observation deck where you can take great photos of planes landing and departing, and above that, a rooftop viewing deck offering beautiful views of the airport and surrounding scenery. The ticket price was reasonable, and they cater well to English-speaking tourists—staff can speak English fluently. There is plenty of parking and very easy access overall. Adult ticket is ¥900, and children under 4 years

Price was not bad and they do cater to English tourist a bit. At least 2 people can speak English fluently there, plenty of parking and easy access. Great stuff.

Not very big with no english explanations. the exhibits were interesting. There is an outdoor area with planes. The best part would probably be simulators which needs to be booked in advance. Next best thing was the observation deck where you had a very good view of planes coming in to land. Easy bus ride from Narita station and airport but do check the frequency and day of the week. There are coins lockers at the entrance.
