I really enjoyed my visit to Aqua World Ibaraki Oarai Aquarium! It's a fantastic place located right by the ocean, with a peaceful atmosphere and well-designed exhibits .
My absolute favorites were the sea angels and the sunfish. The sea angels are in the Mystic Sea Zone with the beautiful "Jellyfish 365" exhibit, where the lighting makes them look magical . And the sunfish tank is incredible—it's actually the largest dedicated sunfish tank in all of Japan ! Watching these gentle giants drift around was so relaxing.
The puffins are one of the coolest things they have! You can see them in the

Wow this is a amazing aquarium ! Wow what an incredible experience! Took the family to Mito to explore the Aqua World and was not disappointed. This place is huge and has amazing aquariums. At times it felt like you were underwater. I highly recommend you secure transportation to and from Mito. Pro Tip. If taking train purchase seats in advance so you don’t have to stand the entire hour trip back to Ueno Station.

Aquaworld Aquarium is right there in quality with others I have been to, such as Monterey Bay Aquarium, San Francisco Aquarium, Long Beach Aquarium, etc. The one thing that this place had that others do not is a clear guided path through the exhibits so that by the time you finish you won't have missed a thing. OK, maybe that's not the only thing Aquaworld has over others. It's collection for food options is amazing. I can't compare this with others from Japan, so maybe the food options are normal for here. Back in the states it's not. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The

I was surprised how nice this aquarium was. They have all sorts of fish, jellyfish and other oddities like sharks and crabs.
The dolphin show was cute, with a nice sea lion doing tricks and sending the most adorable kisses to the crowd.
The main tank is quite huge and is nice to stop to marvel at.
The staff was pleasant to interact with and polite. Restrooms are clean.
There is a gift shop and some restaurants and food stalls toward the exit.
Overall it was very nice, I did not expect to enjoy as much as I did.
