Alley Cats

The restaurant is tucked away in a more quiet area, only a couple minutes away from naka meguro, filled with other cozy cafes and restaurants. I personally love sandwiches, tomatoes, and anything brunch food related, so this spot hits. One downside if you order the tomato sandwich is that the bread does get soggy by the end of it. There might be line if you come on peak hours or the weekends, but I went on a weekday brunch time and immediately got seated. The smash burger was also really good! They deffo know what they are doing, and they are doing it right!

It's a nice place really, but indeed it can be very crowded and you may have to wait. We were lucky and were seated quickly (the last table!). We had a lunch, which was good solid food. Nothing special but very good nonetheless. By Japanese standards, the service is indeed not quite excellent, but it's still very nice. It's a very hipsterish place, of course. To each their own. It's probably best suited for a younger crowd. Cash only.

Came in on a weekday for brunch, so luckily there was no wait. We had the egg and tomato sandwiches that were delicious. The rest of the menu also looked very good. Cash only spot. Overall would recommend for a quick stop if you are in the area.

We came on a weekday before 12pm, and had no wait to enter the store. The atmosphere was very American-like! We had the tomato ricotta cheese open toast and the avocado toast - both delicious! I particularly liked the combination of the ingredients of the avocado toast.

I don't understand the low reviews for this place. It's hard to find brunch spots in tokyo beyond pancakes/French toast and this place does it well. It isn't overpriced at all. I had the special smash burger and it was a very reasonable price of 1,200 yen ish. In Tokyo, i would say that is very cheap. It came quickly and it was delicious. The menu is small but well crafted and well executed. Nothing pretentious here. Just good food.
