Picturesque garden in the heart of Tokyo
Large formal garden early accessible from central Tokyo
The garden itself is not up to the same standard as some of the more famous Japanese gardens but it makes for a pleasant and cool break when here. There are extensive plum an cherry orchards which flower early due to Tokyo’s warm climate.
Tea house is lovely with a very limited menu
There are numerous historical plaques on site explaining the history of the park from the time of the Shotguns to now

A beautiful garden and "lung" inside busy city. So green and fresh even in the winter time. A great contrary view and experience besides those high rises. It was also good to learn the history of the place which was not that common in books or films. I won't say it's a "zen" place but did make you quiet down, relaxed and feel peaceful. A great place to visit after being shopping or in the crowded places for sometimes.

Large garden that tends to be overlooked compared to some other gardens in Tokyo. It can be a bit less convenient to get to, but the excellent scenery and pretty tea house make it worth it. Depending on the season, you can also catch one of the excellent cruises from the garden directly. When we visited this autumn on a weekday, it was much less crowded than many other gardens. This spot is also excellent in the spring. Currently one of the bridges is closed off for repair. Absolutely visit the teahouse.

It is a quiet park located outside Ginza. It is good for a comfortable walk, and since there is a tea house inside the park, staying over tea for a while can be a good option. However, when visiting, it is recommended to visit properly in the right season. Personally, visiting in winter, especially when there is no snow is the worst option. Also, please note that admission fees for the park must be prepared separately. Please also note that the location may not be very good for access by subway.

To whoever wrote that this is (boring) you need to learn to touch some grass more often.
Fantastic spot, honestly! Good teahouse and delicious treats. You can come here and truly enjoy your time in nature. Definitely sit and observe everything, it's a beautiful park right in the city and perfect for an escape.
It has a nice feeling bettween the traditional Edo period gardens and the modern skyscrapers of Shiodome in the background.
