A modern art museum situated on the banks of Takataki Lake in Chiba, known for its striking exposed-concrete architecture and outdoor observation structures.
It suits architecture enthusiasts, modern art fans, and travelers looking for a scenic detour while driving through the region.
A visit during cooler weather is recommended as climbing the outdoor observation stairs can be taxing in the summer heat.
💡 Access is difficult by public transport, so arriving by car is highly recommended.

The Ichihara Lakeside Art Museum on the lake side of Takataki Lake, the largest populated lake in Chiba Prefecture, is an art museum with an RC exposed.
The lake side, the lawn, and the RC building, all three parts can be conveyed in various ways.
The access is bad, but it's fun to go there.
I am captivated by the expressions of how to use the space, how to connect, and how to flow.
Lastly, it was disappointing that there were not many permanent exhibitions.

If you are interested in architecture or modern art, this museum is the right choice for killing time. In summer, it’s little bit hard to climb up stairs, but when you are on the top of the water wheels, you can see beautiful scenery.

Located right on Takataki Lake, the museum has a beautiful view. The water wheel and observation deck are easy to spot from afar, and the ultra-modern design of building is fun to see. With lots of workshops available alongside the exhibits, they seem to want to be involved in the community.

Amazing museum with great exhibitions. The design of the building and the surrounding site is amazing.
