I visited Hokusata with melons in mind. Facing the main street, there's a place for purchasing melons via card payment or mail. For cash purchases to take home, there's another spot near the melon soft serve counter. I also had melon soft serve. Personally, I prefer melon soft serve with fruit chunks over the half-cut version. The sweetness of the fruit chunks surpasses that of the soft serve. I'd like to come again next year.

I came to buy a melon. They also had half-melons and soft serve ice cream, and there was a line, but I reached the ticket machine in about 20 minutes. Both the half-melon and the soft serve ice cream were delicious. Unfortunately, the soft serve melted quickly because the melon was at room temperature. Also, there were a lot of flies at the pick-up counter, which made it a bit unsanitary. They should at least provide some flypaper.
