Had a truly unique dining experience at 上海宫宴. It is recommended to arrive before 5pm if you are going for the dinner with the traditional costume package, as there is a photographer available to take photos in the beautiful garden setting. The entire dining experience is themed around the story of 唐伯虎, making it feel like an immersive performance rather than just a meal. Each dish is creatively presented with its own storyline, adding to the overall experience. At the end, all the actors, actresses, staff, and chefs come out together to greet guests, and they even prepare a personal birthday c

This is my second trip in China and also my second time appreciating the performance at dining. My first one is in Chengdu, which I prefer their staging and performance.
We booked the VIP room right at the middle of the performance area. It’s very close and vivid to enjoy the show at our balcony.
The food is definitely to die for! Almost everything is delicious, from the vegetables of the appetizer, the soup entrees, one of the best fried lamb chops I’ve had, to the fish. You will be so full with all the great dishes!!

Best immersive experience in SH ! You must book this experience 1month prior but to be honest it is so worth it !
You enter the royal banquet of the past and eat like a king ! You have an option where you can wear the traditional hanfu while eating and you can also take pictures. The food is prepared on the spot as the show goes, the synchronization is insane ! Best tofu soup I’ve ever had, it’s so creamy.
People dance, sing, and the show is just so immersive and interactive. Congrats to the entire staff for this amazing experience !
I 100% recommend this experience ! Start booking now !!

I visited Shanghai Gongyan with my friends for a special dinner, and honestly this place give me very royal feeling 😄. From outside already look luxury, inside even more. Decoration is very Chinese classic style, like ancient palace vibe, very quiet, very elegant. Good place if you want impress guest or bring family for important occasion.
Food here is Shanghai style, but cooking is very careful and detail. We ordered several dishes to share. Taste is not strong strong, more balance and gentle, but you can feel ingredients quality is high. Some dishes look like artwork, very beautiful plating

So happy I picked this place for my first royal banquet in China. Even with so many restaurants to choose from in Shanghai, this one stood out. You do have to pay a bit extra for the Hanfu and makeup, but it felt fair for what you get. Good food, a great performance, and easy to find, definitely worth a visit.
